The Gunbearer - IDetached.

It's how I feel, walking into the place she won't go into. She says it's built like cold iron and silver, wrought into chain link fences and welded into supports to house windows of sugar glass. She won't come in here, because out of any face she meets, only one will be pleased to see her. I sound reverent, but in some ways I have to be. Still, I think she's more detached than I could ever be. She's Lucid. I turn my attention upward to the streetlights overhead, and then, waiting for my moment, I etch a single word into the post: divinity.

To me, the place just looks like a night club.

His four soiled-jade eyes welled with a boiling fire when he siphoned her scent from the wind; it was her—what was she doing here?

With a roar that sounded more like a bird's scream, the demon pounded across the sand, tearing entire drifts into the air behind him. Karbohr found his trespasser on the temple grounds, standing where the individual headstones would have been. Her short-cropped black hair scarcely fluttered in the wind that grew in the demon's wake. Karbohr leapt for the kill, talons curled back and waiting, maw wide in a horrifying display of miss-set ivory teeth.

A universe passed under him.

The Oneironaut - 01On the other side of the glass, in the world proper, the woman watched through the corner of her eye. The hallway of the abandoned little house was dark, but she hadn't needed any light to see the white-furred ghost reflected in the mirror. To call it a fox would be to mar the reputation of foxes everywhere; the nogitsune were terrible creatures, cunning and devious, with a seemingly unquenchable thirst for mortal suffering and intrigue.

"You didn't do it?" It had asked, tilting its painted face.

"I gave my word." She tilted the revolver in her hand, causing the image of something small and gold to dance upward over the glass.

Sophia "Zoo" Shepherd, Killhound, Reaver Mechanized Calvalry* (8th Division) under Warlord Kolodenko. My first, and favorite, character for RIFTS, now relocated to RealmJumper. I felt like breaking her back down her her roots.

Drawn while our internet was down for two weeks, for my dear friend ~hypsnakey (currently holding the position of #1 Zoo fan).

I tried to run an all Dogboy campaign once. I wanted to introduce players to the game without overwhelming them with all of the choices so I prerolled a unit and made them all pick based on what breed of mutt they wanted to be.
